The Orchestral Qawwali Project
CONSULTANT AND INTERNATIONAL BOOKING ASSISTANT
Widely regarded as the biggest step forward in Sufi music in decades, the Orchestral Qawwali Project has captivated audiences through its unique combination of Sufi poetry, Indian Classical dance and orchestral arrangements.
Created and composed by Rushil Ranjan and Abi Sampa, this stunning show recently sold out the Camden Roundhouse - 3000 seats - and has accumulated over 20 million YouTube views.
The Project is composed of a core group of musicians (7 musicians and singers) accompanied by local orchestral ensembles of varying sizes, ranging from a small format of 8 cellists; a chamber orchestra or a full-scale symphony orchestra. The orchestral musicians are sourced locally, making impactful cultural exchanges possible.
Since the release of their first work in 2020, the duo has moved from strength to strength, performing with world class orchestras and selling out concert halls around the world, including the Southbank Centre, the Roundhouse, CBSO Birmingham and Al Wasl Plaza in Dubai.
