Stomp

Yes/No Productions and Glynis Henderson Productions

With its unique combination of theatre, dance, comedy and percussion, this multi award-winning production continues to thrill audiences around the world.

Stomp finds beauty and music in the mundane. It turns brooms into instruments and handclapping into a conversation; the junk and clutter of urban life becomes the source of infectious rhythm and wonder. Created in Brighton, UK, in the summer of 1991 Stomp was the result of a ten year collaboration between its creators, Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas.

Glynis Henderson Productions is the original co-producer of Stomp along with Luke and Steve's company, Yes/No Productions, and has tour booked and general managed Stomp worldwide (except North America) since 1991. The show has toured to more than 40 countries including China, Japan, Australia, Korea and across Europe.

In 2001/ 2002 GHP presented Stomp in Paris for a highly successful run of 43 weeks and then in September 2002 the show opened in London's West End at The Vaudeville Theatre. In September 2007, the show transferrred to The Ambassadors Theatre after a record breaking 5 year run at The Vaudeville.

Stomp has now been running in London's West End for over six years.

2008 sees STOMP touring all over the world - including seasons and tours in Poland, Belgium, Greece and The Netherlands. The show has just completed a four week season in Paris - returning to Paris after a five year break - at the Casino de Paris.

In 2004 New York City celebrated 10 years of continuous performances of Stomp at the Orpheum Theatre by renaming 2nd Avenue at 8th Street: Stomp Avenue.

Amongst many other awards, Stomp won a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Choreography and was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment.
